Hello and welcome dear reader! I'm guessing that the title of this post spoke to you and you're unfamiliar with the term Oceania. Well don't feel bad - as I was writing this post it struck me to ask Google, "How many regions are there in the world?". As with most things, Google quickly regurgitated numerous pages of which some said there are only '7' regions in the world. Or as many as '22' regions. Quickly the point was made that the our global community is huge and in our efforts to condense it so that it might be more comprehensible the term 'Oceania' isn't always included.
To start off I'll give you a formal definition:
"Islands in the Pacific, including Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia (incl. New Zealand) & sometimes, Australia & the Malay Archipelago." (Webster's New World College Dictionary, 2010)
