I am a child of Southeast Asian immigrants and grew up in Portland, OR. My motivations for pursuing obesity & diabetes research come from growing up in a community that was disproportionately affected by metabolic syndrome due to socioeconomic factors. I hope to pursue a career in science policy or communication to improve science literacy in underprivileged communities.
