I grew up in a working-class household in the metro Detroit area. I grew up with learning disabilities that were masked by other traits and love school even though it requires extra effort most of the time. I love neuroscience and research is where I feel most at home; my goal is to advance in my career enough to be able to make systemic change in medicine and education, especially in and around the Detroit area.
